Hey, why don't we start a new argument? Like, for instance, the viola is better than the violin.

Why can't you people just enjoy a nice conversation for once. I would like to tell you what I think about the viola and violin but I shouldn't because you would probably jump when you read it.

Hey, go ahead, we can take it.

    Sam

PS. We could argue about the War Between the States if you prefer.

My Dad has tons of books about the Civil War. so I am prepared if we do decide to do that. But I still think that you (boys) should be able to type through a normal and peaceful conversation.
    Heather

PS. Sorry about sending the other comment twice.

  • At 9:53 AM, Blogger Oee said…

I have never even heard of the viola. But if it's any thing like the violin I DO NOT LIKE IT!!!!!!!

Oh and on the civl war thing I think we all agree. Except for maybe Heather G. I don't know. 'Couse Carrs are for the south (I think), I'm for the south, and Heather Kessler is for the south. (atleast mr. kessler is). So that would be a boring argument 'cous we all agree. Unless Heather G. doesn't in that case it would be 4 to 1.

  • At 10:25 AM, Blogger Lemony Snicket said…

Yeah, and your point would be...?

    Sam

PS. Why don't you like violins?

PPS. Heather G, do you think the South was right?

  • At 10:30 AM, Blogger Lemony Snicket said…

    Okeeday, Oee...

The viola is superficially like the violin, but it's way different. There are generally more violinists than violists, and violas are often looked down on. But I am a violist and I am proud of it.

    Heather K,

    Don't you like debate?

    Dan

PS. The answer to the question "why do we like arguing so much" is, "because we can." That should be obvious, but I'm saying it anyway. lol

  • At 11:45 AM, Blogger Oee said…

violins just don't sound good to my ears that's all.

  • At 12:21 PM, Blogger HeatherKessler said…

I agree with Oee about the violins and violas, and I agree with my dad about the war. And I like debates when it is not about opinion.

    okay, first things first.

    Viola vs. Violin

I've never heard a viola, but i like the violin when its played well. i also like the fiddle.

    South vs. North

what were the views first. beg pardon, but i have not studied US history yet, so you'll have to clue me in.

    Debate

Can we PLEASE, i BEG of you (!), have a peaceful, quiet, and aggreeable conversation. why don't we just find out what we all have in common by mere fun. how about we talk about what we're gonna do during the summer? we could talk about our favorite place we want to visit some day. i can think of a thousand (not literal) other conversations to have, just PLEASE (!) leave debate out of the conversation.

Yeah, i could do ice-cream heather K, i just don't have money for dinner.

    HH

PS. so how is the practice for your guys' play coming?

  • At 7:24 AM, Blogger Lemony Snicket said…

    Viola vs. violin

The viola is built pretty much like a large violin. It is tuned differently, however, and due to its size it sounds much different than a violin. I like the viola because it is bigger than the violin, it makes bigger and lower sounds, and it's fun to play.

    War Between the States

Many people think that the War was fought over the issue of slavery. This is not true. Slavery was an issue in the War, but the reason the North went to war was because they didn't think the South had the right to leave the Union. I believe that constitutionally, the South had the right to leave.

    Dan

PS. Our play is coming along slowly, but steadily.

-We're supposed to research a subject of our choice, write why we chose it, and read at least three diferent things about our subject.

    Sam

PS. Rock on!! Totaly!! Whoever thought of Daylight Saving Time should be shot.

  • At 11:28 AM, Blogger Gabriella Reed said…

okay, so if i were to chose roman gods and goddesses, i would have to chose three and write about them?

    HH

PS. um, not quite sam. Benjamin Franklin first thought of daylight savings. have you ever seen national treasure? it says so there.... just making sure you know that i'm not a history wiz.

  • At 6:47 AM, Blogger Lemony Snicket said…

    Then HE should be shot.

You guys should hear everything Sam has to say about Daylight Saving Time. He'll be involved in a mock debate on the subject and he intends to destroy DST with nuclear weapons.

-Hey, great to hear from you. The test was way better then I thought (the answer is 42). We're slowing down in Church History so we're still on chapter 32.

    Later,
    Sam

PS. For the rest of you... What is the worst movie you've ever seen. Off the top of my head I think it's Star Wars III.

Hey Heather, did you just post?

    Sam

  • At 12:03 PM, Blogger Gabriella Reed said…

you NEED to take that test. if we have to suffer, so do you! -lol- really.... it was really hard. have fun taking it in a couple weeks! i hope you can go swimming with dophins! then you can tell me ALL about it. too bad its illegal here.... o well. have a great time!

    HH

  • At 1:47 PM, Blogger Gabriella Reed said…

alright... yeah... i guess i did just post. but anyway, what is 42 sam? off the top of my head, the worst movie I have seen is either Troy, Massada (the most depressing movie), or an episode from Bananza that was on last night.... really aweful stuff. But i don't like talking about bad movies. lets talk about good movies. i think that Pride and Prejudice (old version; aka: 6 hour version) is the best movie.... but really i can't do an over all choice. it has well formed characters, very good story line, good acting (dont' you say a word, sam), and a lot of other good stuff.

    Sincerely,
    HH

-I havn't seen P&P but I've heard it's good. Best movie I've ever seen is definitly God's and Generals. Great acting, good filming, great score, and it REALLY HAPPENED (unlike P&P).

hey! there HAVE been modern versions of this TYPE of thing happening. its just not specific. and it has a good moral lesson to it that can be learned by anyone.

why does no one post on saturdays??

  • At 5:48 AM, Blogger Lemony Snicket said…

-What do you mean there are modern versions of this happening? The War Between the States really happened and you will learn quite a bit more from watching "Gods and Generals" then from watching about anything else.

    Sam

PS. Because we're busy on Saterdays

  • At 6:40 AM, Blogger Gabriella Reed said…

nevermind. i want this post to be the largest part of the blog that has PEACE. not arguments (or as you would put it, "discussions"). SO... who wants to go crash heather's part down south? any votes?

i have a question.... what should the articles we find on our topic be like? i have found no articles that seem to be articles and so i'm changing my topic.... but i can't find a topic that i can find articles on. PLEASE inform me asap if you know what an article is.

  • At 3:06 PM, Blogger Lemony Snicket said…

An "article" is just any written work you can find about a subject. I'm not sure if that's the strict definition of an article, but we're not nit-picking about it; if you find something someone wrote about your subject, you can use it.
